About

I am a freelance journalist, producer and commentator specialising in foreign news, humanitarian issues and outward-facing UK policy.

I most recently reported from Iraq during the 10th anniversary of the so-called Islamic State’s genocide against Yazidis.

Previously, I was a World News Reporter at the Daily Mirror, where I reported on breaking news such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, terrorist attacks and assassinations.

I am privileged to tell other people’s stories and have interviewed victims of sexual trafficking, children living under siege, members of the UN, genocide survivors, experts in communicable diseases, asylum seekers and sex workers.

As a freelancer, I have written for The Independent, The Financial Times, VICE, The New Arab, ELLE Magazine, openDemocracy and others.

I am also a podcast and radio producer for the BBC World Service. I have pitched, scripted and edited episodes of The Global Story and acted as an on-the-day producer for OS Radio.

I have also appeared as a panellist on Sky News Breakfast Show numerous times.
